Places that exude strength and tranquility. Places that slow down, inviting you to pause and reflect. A short break from the hustle and bustle is always enriching, as moments of silence and contemplation are often far too rare in everyday life. Hildesheim's city pilgrimage route aims to provide visitors and residents with moments of leisure. The nearly four-kilometer route, mostly barrier-free, leads through streets and squares to very special locations where you might want to disconnect for a while. From St. Jakobi Church, via the historic market square, the Evangelical Lutheran St. Andreas Church, the Holy Cross oasis, St. Godehard Church, and the cathedral, the route finally leads to St. Michaelis Church. Along the way, there are other points of interest, such as the bronze sculpture "Lady with a Bird on Her Head" and the Stineken Gate. Those who allow themselves enough time will spend about two hours on the walk. While you're there, you can read the illustrated pilgrim's guide, available at the Tourist Information Office, which offers a different, more spiritual perspective on the city.
