Fitness trail and running tracks

What could be better than getting some fresh air and exercise, burning a few calories, and experiencing the natural beauty surrounding Hildesheim? So head on over to the shelter at Galgenberg. You can easily reach it by car (parking is available on site) or bus line 6. This is where the Hildesheim fitness trail begins, a fantastic opportunity for all ages and fitness levels to improve your health and have fun at any time of day or year. A challenging 2,2-kilometer course winds around the Yellow Tower and its observatory: at 17 stations, exercises with names like "Flyer," "Eagle," and others are explained on large boards using pictograms and text. Depending on your fitness level, you can jog or walk between the stations. Also starting at Galgenberg is the orienteering trail, a "running loop with brains," where young people can solve various tasks. Ultimately, the focus is solely on the enjoyment of movement on various designated running routes in and around the city, ranging from the 2,3 kilometer loop around the Hohnsensee to the 15 kilometer Innerste Aue running route – this is how you can get to know and appreciate Hildesheim even more closely while running.
