A meeting place for everyone
Have you ever heard of the bald-backed wood ant, or the pink-flowering toothwort? Probably not (even though they all live here), unless you're a seasoned botanist. But that doesn't matter in the slightest; you can simply enjoy Ernst Ehrlicher Park. This green oasis is centrally located in Hildesheim's city center, making it the perfect place to relax after sightseeing, shopping, or after work. Stroll leisurely through the approximately five-hectare park, named after a former mayor and now serving as Hildesheim's city park. Delight in the fragrant, expansive meadows, shady trees, and shimmering ponds. Kingfishers, tawny owls, common pipistrelle bats, and other species share the Hildesheimers' fondness for their green haven; it's simply a charming little piece of paradise. Artists have also been able to realize their ideas here; for example, a rose labyrinth with a path length of more than half a kilometer was created – as a “place of encounter for everyone”.
