When the days get longer, nature awakens and the desire for outdoor activities increases, the first event in Hildesheim is: "Off to spring!"
Am Sunday 19. April 2026, the city center of Hildesheim is transformed from 10am to 18pm into a springtime world of experiences centered around outdoor activities, leisure, and regional products. At the same time, the shops at the Sunday shopping from 13 p.m. to 18 p.m. for relaxed strolling and shopping.
"Off to Spring!" inspires a love of exercise, nature, excursions, and new discoveries in the city and region. Whether families, young people, long-time residents of Hildesheim, or visitors from elsewhere – the event is for everyone who wants to kick off the new season together.

The open Sunday shopping event further enlivens the city center, creating a special atmosphere amidst market activity, exciting events, and shopping pleasure. The focus is on encounters, exchange, and a positive feeling of well-being.
Furthermore, the St. Andrew's Church tower will be open longer for visitors on April 19th. Those who climb the 364 steps of the tallest church tower in Lower Saxony will be rewarded with an impressive panoramic view over the rooftops of Hildesheim and into the surrounding region. The last ascent is at 17:30 p.m.
