Monastery Route

Following in the footsteps of important monasteries, the route leads from Hildesheim through the spa town of Bad Salzdetfurth and on to Bodenburg and Lamspringe. There, the imposing Baroque church, with its magnificent furnishings, is the centerpiece of a former Benedictine monastery. On the way to the collegiate church in Bad Gandersheim, contemporary works by European artists can be seen along the sculpture trail. The tour concludes with a visit to the 12th-century Clus Monastery complex. Particularly worth seeing are the Romanesque church and the carved altarpiece from 1487.
