Accessible city beach

Accessible city beach

The city beach is designed to be as barrier-free as possible, so that people with disabilities can also visit the beautiful city beach at the An der Lilie square.

The Villa Lounge and the Einbeck Terrace feature low tables, making the seating accessible to people with and without mobility impairments. These areas are also sand-free.

Holzsteg

A wooden walkway was constructed for the City Beach, providing barrier-free access via two ramps. The walkway is 2 meters wide, allowing wheelchair users to use it easily and without restrictions. The barrier-free walkway was sponsored by Daheim statt Heim GmbH. The organizers are especially grateful for the generous funding from Aktion Mensch, which helped improve accessibility.

aluminum ramp

An aluminum ramp provided by the City of Hildesheim's Migration and Inclusion Office allows access to the gbg beach lounge for people with mobility impairments. The ramp can also be laid on the sand, making it accessible and allowing wheelchair users to join groups. The staff at the "Beach Bude" are happy to assist them.

toilet facility

As an alternative to the toilet trailer, the Euro key for the accessible public toilet in Marktstraße can be borrowed from the "Beach Bude" kiosk for a deposit.
