Public
City and Food Tour

Discover Hildesheim

This is the name of the classic public city tour, which traditionally starts at the historic market square. This square alone is worth more than just a quick glance, as its harmonious architecture makes it one of the most beautiful in the world. From here, you will be guided individually or in small groups for two hours to the most important sights, learning a great deal along the way. The main attractions are the Cathedral and St. Michael's Church, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. You will be captivated by the myths and legends recounted by the guide, such as those about the 1000-year-old rosebush, the so-called Bernward Doors, or the gilded chandelier from the Middle Ages, which boasts an impressive six-meter diameter. The Christmas tours are particularly atmospheric: You will stroll through festively decorated streets to the Christmas market in the market square, where the tour concludes with a cozy get-together over mulled wine or punch.
