Game enclosure
If you take your children on a trip to the wildlife park in the Ochtersum district, you're sure to see their eyes light up. There are many different animals to see! Wild boar, fallow deer, pygmy goats, rabbits, pheasants, and peacocks are just some of the species that live in this nature park, in a species-appropriate environment covering approximately 6 hectares. The more than 300 animals are well cared for here, and information panels provide details about their personalities and preferences. A wonderful feature: a rescue station for owls and birds of prey injured in the wild. The small park museum, "Steinbergium," also provides information about many species from the region, including a vivid presentation of the insect world using a microscope. Meanwhile, an Indian teepee and small ride-on animals await your children at the playground, and the restaurant offers the whole family the opportunity to enjoy coffee and cake or hearty, rustic dishes. The wildlife enclosure on the Steinberg, which is just over 140 meters high, is conveniently open 24/7, 365 days a year, and easily accessible by car (parking available) or city bus line 5. Entry is free – so what are you waiting for?
