Holy Cross Hildesheim

One of Hildesheim's oldest and architecturally significant churches. The original structure served as the eastern gate fortification within the city walls as late as the 10th century and was converted into a church under Bishop Hezilo. Today, the church impresses not only with its beautiful architecture but also, as the "Oasis of the Holy Cross," is open to all interested visitors as a spiritual meeting place in the heart of Hildesheim.
