Hildesheim Christmas Magic
Every year, around 60 festively decorated stalls and many tried-and-tested, as well as new, highlights await visitors in the historic market square and the square An der Lilie. During Advent, the Hildesheim Christmas Market attracts residents, tourists, and day-trippers to the city center with its Christmas scents, colorful lights, and appealing program, even beyond the Christmas holidays.
As a special highlight, the traditional heart of the Christmas market, the city's historic market square, will once again feature a Christmas pyramid. Alongside arts and crafts and food stalls, small wooden huts adorn the square around the market fountain, their design echoing the half-timbered style of old Hildesheim buildings. In these stalls, vendors offer a wide variety of Christmas items and accessories. As in previous years, several large fir trees further enhance the wintry, Christmassy atmosphere.
Against the impressive backdrop of the market square with its famous Butchers' Guildhall, a Christmas tree approximately 10 meters tall once again provides a very special festive glow. Numerous stalls, framed by tall fir trees, also invite visitors to stroll and relax in the square "An der Lilie."
