"Off to spring!": New spring market attracts visitors to the city center on April 19th.
Exhibitors, activities and hands-on offers from the areas of regionality, leisure and outdoor activities invite visitors to the city center from 10 am to 18 pm.
The new event "Off to Spring!" will celebrate the start of the warmer season for the first time in Hildesheim's city center on Sunday, April 19th. From 10 a.m. to 18 p.m., visitors can expect a diverse spring market with numerous information booths, activities, and hands-on experiences in the area of the market square, the square "An der Lilie," and the pedestrian zone. At the same time, the city center's shops will be open from 13 p.m. to 18 p.m. for Sunday shopping, inviting visitors to stroll and shop at their leisure.
The new event is aimed at families, locals, and visitors alike, and seeks to inspire a love of exercise, nature, and excursions in the region. Numerous exhibitors will present their offerings and provide inspiration for activities during the spring and summer seasons.
Three thematic areas: regionality, leisure and outdoor activities
Thematically, "Off to Spring!" is divided into the areas of regionality, leisure, and the outdoors. Visitors can find information at numerous stands about activities, destinations, regional products, and leisure opportunities.
In the outdoor area, the focus is on camping and outdoor adventures. For example, Bodenburg Caravans and Bergmühle Campsite will present their offerings for camping and holidays in nature. A nature professor will also provide engaging information about nature and the environment, demonstrating how exciting nature experiences can be right on your doorstep. Hermann Car Dealership will also be present, showcasing how even an everyday car can be used for adventures: The company will present a camper van and converted vehicles, offering insights into ways to travel flexibly and comfortably with your own car.
In the leisure section, tourism providers, initiatives, and organizations present destinations and activities in the region. These include, for example, SkyDive Hildesheim, Eintracht Hildesheim 1861 eV, Harzer E-Bike, Räder Emmel, Dynamo Fahrradhandel, and Leinekanu, who showcase various options for sporty and active leisure pursuits.
Tourist destinations and attractions from the region and beyond will also be presenting themselves at the event. Among others, the Einbeck Tourist Information Office, Goslar Marketing, the Hildesheim district with its Hildesheim Adventure Region, the Harz World Heritage Foundation, Hanover-Langenhagen Airport, and the municipality of Diekholzen will be providing information about destinations, sights, and leisure activities. Visitors will find plenty of inspiration for day trips, weekend getaways, and vacation experiences in Lower Saxony and the wider region.
Organizations and initiatives such as the Hildesheim Cycling Working Group, the Friends and Supporters of the Fagus Factory World Heritage Site, and the RPM Museum Hildesheim in cooperation with the Adult Education Center (VHS) are also represented. The offerings are complemented by, among others, Koffer Koch and Bodystreet Hildesheim Dammtor.

Activities and hands-on opportunities for children

Spring rally through the city center and market stalls
A special highlight of the event is the Spring Rally, where visitors can embark on a discovery tour through the city center. At participating stalls and shops, they receive a scorecard and collect letters that together form a solution phrase. Anyone who figures out the correct phrase and submits their completed scorecard is automatically entered into a drawing for attractive prizes.
Prizes include a Jo-Wiese Family Card worth €179, a €100 gift certificate for the Arneken Galerie shopping center, a carry-on trolley from Koffer Koch, and other attractive prizes.
