First come, first served: City beach sand is being given away for free.
100 tons of sand can be picked up free of charge at Citybeach.
Hildesheim. Until August 16th, beachgoers can enjoy the holiday feeling amidst sun and sand at City Beach, sip delicious cocktails, and relax in deck chairs. Dismantling will begin on August 17th, after the end of this year's beach season.
As in previous years, there's something to give away again this year: Approximately 100 tons of the finest, light-colored, washed sand, like you find on holiday beaches, are looking for a new home. The sand comes from the region, specifically from Duingen, from the company Dörentrup Quarz GmbH & Co. KG. In recent years, many beach sports areas in and around the city have been created using this sand. Now, we're once again looking for someone to take all of this City Beach sand. The only conditions are: The recipient must arrange their own transport. Also, the area must be left clean and tidy. Interested parties should contact Hildesheim Marketing GmbH at citymanagement@hildesheim-marketing.de.
Opening hours
The city beach is open from June 26th to August 16th, Sundays to Thursdays from 12 pm to 22 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, the city beach can be visited from 12 pm to 23 pm.
