Hildesheim. Following its successful premiere last year, the Andreasturm Challenge is entering its second round. On Saturday, September 26, Hildesheim Marketing is once again inviting sports enthusiasts to climb Lower Saxony's tallest church tower in a race against the clock. 364 steps and a height of 114,5 meters await all those who want to take on this special challenge.

The race leads through the historic tower of St. Andrew's Church, past the bell tower and the old mechanical clock, up to the viewing platform. Once at the top, the runners are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Hildesheim – on a clear day, the view even extends to the Brocken mountain. In addition to the established age categories, two new special categories add extra excitement this year. In the "Blue Light Challenge," members of the fire department, ambulance service, THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief), police, and other emergency services compete against each other carrying at least ten kilograms of extra weight. The new "Athlete Challenge" is aimed at club and competitive athletes who want to test themselves against other teams and clubs. Furthermore, children, teenagers, and adults will be ranked in various age groups.

All participants will receive a certificate in recognition of their achievement. The top three finishers in each category will also receive attractive prizes. In addition, every participant will receive a refreshment bag containing water, a granola bar, a banana, and dextrose for energy before or after the run. The event will be accompanied by a diverse program of activities around St. Andrew's Church. A warm-up session for participants will be offered in cooperation with the ELAN fitness studio. Food and drink options, a bouncy castle for children, and a raffle for all attendees will ensure that the event is worthwhile even beyond the race itself. Runners, families, friends, and all interested parties are warmly invited to experience the special atmosphere of the Andreasturm Challenge.

Registration opens on August 1st . Those who register by August 14th will benefit from a discounted entry fee of €8 as "Early Runners". After that date, the entry fee is €10. Due to limited capacity, early registration is recommended. Further information about the Andreasturm Challenge and the registration form can be found at www.hildesheim-tourismus.de/andreasturm-challenge.
